Garfield Re-2 School District
Dave Lindenberg named Interim-Superintendent
RIFLE At the August 4, 2015 School Board meeting, the Garfield Re-2 Board of Directors executed an amicable separation agreement with Dr. Susan Birdsey. Following an executive session, the Garfield Re-2 Board of Directors appointed Asst. Superintendent Dave Lindenberg as Interim-Superintendent for no fewer than two months as the Board and District move forward. The board will re-evaluate the situation with Mr. Lindenberg after two months.
“This is an opportunity for us to go forward slowly,” said Board Vice President Anne Guettler, who ran the August 4, 2015 Special Meeting. President Chris Pearson was unable to attend due to an illness.
“Dave Lindenberg is very capable. We don’t want to move too quickly, but put the proper processes in place to support an interim-superintendent and the upcoming superintendent search,” she added.
The Garfield Re-2 Board will begin developing a comprehensive plan to involve all stakeholders in the process of hiring long-term leadership for the school district. Once a comprehensive plan has been established, the School Board will communicate this plan with the Garfield Re-2 staff, parents, and community and solicit input.
Mr. Lindenberg became the Asst. Superintendent for Garfield Re-2 on July 1, 2014. Prior to his appointment as Asst. Superintendent, he was Principal at Kathryn Senor Elementary for nine years.
Lindenberg holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Valparaiso University, a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and received his school principal licensure from Adams State College. Mr. Lindenberg also has experience as both a school psychologist and counseling in private practice.
